ifupdown-multi software package provides multiple default gateway support for ifupdown, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ifupdown-multi
ifupdown-multi is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ifupdown-multi package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ifupdown-multi *
You will get with ifupdown-multi package name, version, architecture and description in a table
